- Display Name: The name you choose to present yourself to other members of your household.
- Household Codes: The unique 6-character codes you generate to create or join a shared grocery list.
- Grocery Data: Items you add, edit, or cross off within your shared lists, including item names, assigned categories, and completion status.
Information collected automatically
- Anonymous Authentication ID: When you use Sync Cart, we generate a unique, anonymous ID via Google Firebase Authentication to securely connect you to your households without requiring an email, phone number, or password.
- Usage and Crash Data: We may collect anonymous crash statistics and diagnostic information to monitor the health of the Service and fix bugs.
2. How We Use the Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- To Provide the Service: Synchronizing your grocery lists in real-time across devices within the same household.
- To Maintain and Improve our Service: Fixing crashes, monitoring performance, and developing new features.
- To Ensure Security: Preventing unauthorized access through Firebase Security Rules, ensuring your data is only visible to users possessing the correct household code.
3. How We Share Information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.
Your display name and grocery data will naturally be shared only with other users who possess the correct 6-character code for your household.
We may share anonymous, aggregated data with trusted third-party service providers (such as Google Firebase) solely for the purpose of hosting our Service, authenticating users securely, and tracking application performance.
4. Data Security
We implement reasonable security measures to maintain the safety of your personal information:
- Encryption: Data transmitted between your device and our servers is encrypted in transit using industry-standard protocols (HTTPS/TLS).
- Secure Infrastructure: All backend storage and real-time database functions are handled by Google Firebase, an enterprise-grade cloud provider with strict security compliance.
- Anonymous Access: Because we do not ask for associated personal identifiers (like emails or passwords), your identity inherently remains protected from data breaches tying Service usage to your real identity.
